Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday met representatives of various farmer organizations from Punjab at his official residence and discussed several issues related to the agriculture sector. During the meeting, farmer leaders highlighted the concerns faced by the farming community and sought long-term policy measures to address them.

According to an official statement, Saini assured the delegation that issues concerning farmers and the agriculture sector would be addressed as a priority once a Bharatiya Janata Party government is formed in Punjab following the Assembly elections due next year.

The delegation included representatives of the Doaba Kisan Union, Kisan Bachao Morcha, and members of the Kamboj community. The farmer leaders presented various demands to the chief minister and discussed challenges in agriculture and farmers’ welfare in Punjab.

Addressing the delegation, Saini said the BJP has consistently kept farmers’ welfare at the center of its governance and policy framework. He stated that under the BJP government in Haryana, farmers are receiving Minimum Support Price for their crops and are also being compensated for losses caused by natural calamities.

The meeting comes ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections scheduled for early next year, as political parties increase outreach to different sections, including the farming community.
