Shimla, April 13

A major fire broke out early Monday morning at the Heritage market in Kasauli, Solan district, Himachal Pradesh. Several shops were destroyed, but officials said no one was hurt.

The fire began around 4:30 am and quickly spread to several shops in the busy Heritage market. People nearby said there was panic as the flames moved quickly, and thick smoke was visible from a distance. “We woke up to loud noises and saw huge flames coming from the market,” said a resident who lives nearby.

Firefighters, a Quick Response Team from the Army, and local police arrived quickly to handle the emergency. Putting out the fire has been challenging because some food and drink shops have LPG cylinders inside, which could explode. Authorities have closed the area to keep people safe.

Early estimates suggest that property worth several lakhs of rupees has been lost in the fire. So far, there are no reports of injuries.

Fire and emergency teams are still at the scene, working to bring the situation under control. Officials are assessing the damage and have said that safety measures are in place. They are also helping affected shop owners.
