In a significant development concerning the farmers’ protest, the Supreme Court on Monday ordered the partial reopening of the road at the Shambhu border. This decision aims to ensure the movement of ambulances, essential services, and local commuters. The Supreme Court directed the DGPs of Punjab and Haryana to meet within a week, along with the SPs of neighboring districts, to discuss the partial reopening of roads at the Shambhu border. Additionally, the Supreme Court announced that it would issue a brief order outlining the terms for a panel to be formed to engage with the protesting farmers, as According to the media.
The Court further stated, “If both sides can resolve these modalities, they need not wait for any order from this Court; the resolution should be implemented immediately.”
