Dharamshala administration fully prepared for India vs Afghanistan cricket match

The Kangra district administration has completed extensive preparations for the India versus Afghanistan cricket match scheduled for June 13 in Dharamshala. Authorities have finalized security, traffic management, medical response, and emergency preparedness plans to ensure the event proceeds smoothly.

Officials say adequate police personnel have been  deployed to maintain law and order and manage traffic during the match. Additional security measures have also been put in place in anticipation of a large crowd.

Special medicaSpecial medical teams have been formed to handle emergencies. The Disaster Management Department and other agencies are on alert. Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Shilpi Bekta, said that temporary restrictions on paragliding and other airborne activities were imposed on June 13 at the request of the police administration as part of the security arrangements.

A detailed traffic management plan has also been prepared. Considering the expected influx of visitors and cricket fans, a one-way traffic system will be implemented in key areas around the venue. Additional police personnel will be deployed on routes leading through Dari and Shaheed Smarak.

Officials noted that Shaheed Smarak Road is currently closed for repairs, which could increase traffic in surrounding areas. The administration has warned that strict action, including challans, will be taken against vehicles parked at unauthorized locations.

The district administration has held coordination meetings with the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA). These aim to ensure the successful organization of the international fixture.
