New Delhi, May 20

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday launched “Hauslon Ki Udaan”, a talent hunt initiative aimed at identifying and promoting young talent across the national capital. The programme will provide a platform for youth aged 16 to 35 to showcase their skills in music, dance, acting, arts, and poetry through a free online registration process.

Addressing a press conference at the Chief Minister’s Office, Gupta said the initiative has been designed to encourage young people from diverse social and economic backgrounds by providing them with opportunities in the creative sector.

Under the scheme, competitions will be organised in seven categories, including singing, dancing, acting and theatre, fine arts and digital arts, sculpture and pottery, music composition, instrumental music, and poetry.

The programme will be implemented by the Delhi government’s Department of Art, Culture and Languages and will cover all 70 Assembly constituencies in the city.

Officials said the competition will be conducted in four stages: online registration and screening, followed by cluster-, zonal-, and state-level rounds. An online registration portal will be launched soon.

The Delhi government expects more than 25,000 participants to take part in the initiative and has allocated a budget of Rs 10 crore for the programme.

Winners in different categories will receive cash prizes, with the first prize set at Rs 2.5 lakh. The second, third, and fourth positions will receive Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh, and Rs 1 lakh, respectively.

According to the government, 25 per cent of the selection process weightage will come from online public voting, while the remaining 75 per cent will be decided by an expert jury panel.

Delhi Art, Culture and Languages Minister Kapil Mishra said the initiative would help strengthen Delhi’s identity as a creative hub for aspiring artists and performers.

The grand finale of the competition is expected to be held in August.
