Shimla, June 17
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is set to undertake a two-day visit to Kangra district, during which he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development projects. State leaders have described the visit as significant for both infrastructure development and the state’s long-term economic growth.
Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma said the Chief Minister will dedicate multiple public welfare projects to the people of Kangra. Among the key initiatives, a 15-bed Ayush hospital in Dharamshala will be inaugurated to strengthen healthcare services in the region.
Speaking on the law and order situation in the state, Goma said the government remains committed to maintaining peace and security. He stated that while a few incidents had recently surfaced, authorities acted swiftly and arrested the accused within 24 to 48 hours. He added that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhu, is actively implementing the anti-drug campaign and taking strict action under the NDPS Act. According to him, amendments and stronger measures have been introduced to curb the drug menace.
Criticizing the opposition, Goma alleged that the BJP was focused on making allegations while the government continued to accelerate development works on the ground. He asserted that Himachal Pradesh is moving steadily towards self-reliance through sustained policy initiatives and public welfare programmes.
Meanwhile, Shahpur MLA Kewal Singh Pathania also welcomed the Chief Minister’s upcoming visit and praised his leadership. He said the state government is prioritizing development and addressing public concerns through a focused approach.
Referring to the recent high-level meeting in New Delhi chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Pathania said Chief Minister Sukhu strongly represented Himachal Pradesh’s interests regarding the Kishau Dam Project. He claimed that the state secured a major financial advantage through the discussions and that the project is expected to generate nearly ₹600 crore in annual revenue for Himachal Pradesh once operational.
Pathania said several important projects will be inaugurated and launched during the Chief Minister’s Kangra visit, making it a crucial tour from a developmental perspective. He also claimed that Congress workers and elected representatives across the state would honour the Chief Minister for his efforts towards strengthening the economy and accelerating development.
Both leaders expressed confidence that under Sukhu’s leadership, Himachal Pradesh will continue to witness progress across sectors while safeguarding the state’s economic and developmental interests.
