Shri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport, Amritsar, will begin a live trial of the DigiYatra facility for Indian international passengers holding e-chip-enabled passports from November 1, 2026.
Through this facility, passengers will be able to enter the terminal building using a facial recognition technology-based system, making the entry process smoother, easier and more time-efficient.
Face scanner machines have already been installed at the airport, and the necessary readiness tests for the facility have been successfully completed.
The facility will initially be available only for departing international passengers entering the terminal building.
