Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday described 2024 as a deeply challenging year and apologised to the people of the state for the turmoil since May 3. “I feel regret. I apologise. But now, I hope after seeing the last three to four months’ progress towards peace, I believe by 2025, normalcy will be restored in the state,” the Chief Minister said while addressing the press conference. Biren Singh expressed regret over the loss of lives and displacement of residents during the Manipur violence. “On the eve of a new year, I reflect on the progress we’ve made together in 2024 and the challenges we’ve overcome. As we step into 2025, I reaffirm our commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive state,” he added.
