Punjab’s Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Monday commended the Punjab Police team for their outstanding performance at the 67th All India Police Duty Meet 2023-24, held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, in February. The Punjab Police secured one silver and two bronze medals in various categories, making a significant impact at the event. Constable Manpreet Kaur earned a silver medal in the Police Observation segment under the Scientific Aids to Investigation category. Inspector Mohit Dhawan won a bronze in the Medico-Legal Test, also in the Scientific Aids to Investigation category, while Constable Rupinder Singh and narcotic sniffer dog Bingo, a Belgian Malinois, clinched a bronze for their performance.
DGP Yadav honored the trio with the prestigious DGP’s Disc and cash rewards, highlighting their exceptional contributions to the force. He was joined by Director of the Punjab Police Academy Anita Punj, SSP Khanna Ashwini Gotyal, and Staff Officer Darpan Ahluwalia.
“They have brought great pride to Punjab Police and set a remarkable standard of excellence. Their dedication and perseverance continue to inspire the entire force,” DGP Yadav said on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
The meet, organized by the All India Police Sports Control Board, took place at the Railway Protection Force (RPF) grounds in Lucknow and saw participation from over 30 forces, including state police and paramilitary units. The event aimed to foster collaboration and enhance scientific approaches to crime detection and investigation. The Punjab Police teams were managed by Dr. Jaswinder Singh of the Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur.
