Centre approves around Rs 34 crore for training, infrastructure, connectivity and equipment in Haryana
Chandigarh: Haryana has scored 95.28 on the national dashboard for implementation of the new criminal laws, retaining its top position since June 7, while the state’s Harsamay portal received 10 out of 10 marks for providing citizen services within the stipulated timelines.
The performance was reviewed at the 34th meeting of the state-level apex committee on the implementation of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) and the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi.
Superintendent of Police in the State Crime Records Bureau, Nitika Gehlot, said Haryana scored 95.28, followed by Assam at 94.65 and Chandigarh at 92.80. Haryana secured 20 out of 20 marks for administrative reforms, 10 out of 10 for system integration, 40.40 out of 45 for operational efficiency and 24.88 out of 25 for the use of information technology.
Gehlot said the state continued to receive full marks on the Right to Service dashboard for citizen services delivered through the Harsamay portal. Acknowledgement receipts are now issued when registered users submit requests to block mobile numbers through their user IDs, providing immediate confirmation of submission.
Rastogi praised the departments for their performance and stressed continued coordination to deliver time-bound services and advance technology-driven criminal justice reforms.
The meeting was informed that electronic charge-sheet filing through a single-window system had been introduced in 10 districts. Consultations with district judges had been completed in the remaining districts, where the system is expected to be introduced soon.
The committee also reviewed the implementation of the Nyaya Shruti system in district courts. Nodal officers have been appointed, and further directions have been sought from the High Court to facilitate implementation.
The Union Home Ministry has approved around Rs 34 crore for training, infrastructure development, network connectivity and equipment for the police, prisons, prosecution agencies and forensic science laboratories in Haryana.
The committee approved the purchase of 1,029 mobile data terminals and 1,700 desktop computers, including uninterrupted power supply systems. It also reviewed the supply of 2,489 single-fingerprint scanners, 1,688 video-conferencing units and webcams, 411 forensic evidence kits and 86 tablet-based attendance devices.
Proposals to link arms training certificates with the CCTNS-Arms Licence Portal and integrate the Trackia forensic application with CCTNS were also discussed to speed up verification and electronic information-sharing.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Director General of Police, Modernisation and Welfare, Amitabh Singh Dhillon, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
