As many as 100 officials to discuss digital reforms, public service delivery on October 16-17
Dharamshala: As many as 100 officials and experts from across the country will gather in Dharamshala on October 16 and 17 for a national conference on e-governance reforms, focusing on digital initiatives and improvements in public service delivery.
Union Ministers JP Nadda and Dr Jitendra Singh, along with Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, are expected to attend the inaugural session.
Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa said the conference was being organised jointly by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India, and the Himachal Pradesh Government.
The conference will feature presentations on successful information technology projects and administrative reforms implemented in different states. It would provide officials a platform to exchange experiences and discuss ways to make government services more transparent, accessible and efficient, Bairwa added.
Participants will include secretaries of relevant Union Government departments, the Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary, departmental secretaries, directors, project chief executive officers and heads of departments from various states.
The event will also provide Himachal Pradesh an opportunity to showcase its e-governance initiatives and learn from successful models adopted by other states.
Local self-help groups will display their products for delegates, while a cultural evening will showcase the folk traditions of Himachal Pradesh and Kangra. Senior officials are expected to attend the concluding session, while other ministers will participate depending on their availability.
