Over 600 students from across India take part in tech fest at NMIMS Chandigarh

Student-led fest brings together participants from leading institutions in 17 coding, cybersecurity, robotics and gaming competitions

Chandigarh, September 14

More than 600 students from educational institutions across India participated in Anviksha – The Epoch 2026, a student-led technology fest hosted by SVKM’s NMIMS Chandigarh, featuring competitions in coding, cybersecurity, robotics, gaming and problem-solving.

The fest featured 17 event categories, with participation from institutions including IIT Ropar, Punjab Engineering College, Panjab University, Chandigarh University, Chitkara University, Lovely Professional University, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Amity University, Shoolini University and Plaksha University. Students from NMIMS campuses in Chandigarh, Mumbai and Hyderabad also took part.

The competitions included Algorithm Auction, Array Pata Hai, The Parallel Protocol, Escape the Server, Capture the Flag – Operation: Zero Trace and Secret Seekers, focusing on coding, cybersecurity and problem-solving.

Robotics events such as Robo Race and Robo Soccer were also held, while participants competed in gaming titles including Valorant, FIFA 25, Tekken 8 and Mortal Kombat 1.

Amit Gandhi, Associate Director–Talent, EY, who attended the event as chief guest, said changing workplace expectations would require students to develop adaptability, curiosity, critical thinking and the ability to use AI effectively.

NMIMS Chandigarh Campus Director Prof (Dr) Jyotsna Singh said such events provided students an opportunity to apply classroom learning to practical challenges, collaborate with peers and learn from failures.

In the competitive events, The Rock and Roll from MCM won Secret Seekers, followed by Sherlock Homies and Badmash Bille from NMIMS.

Team Vishnu Singh Reddy from Lovely Professional University won Robo Soccer, with Team Technobuster from Punjab Engineering College finishing second and Team Ashish from LPU third.

In Algorithm Auction, Bang Bang from NMIMS secured the first position, followed by Dhurandhar from NMIMS and Fukrey 2.0 from Panjab University.

Team Navyudh from GNDEC, Ludhiana, won Robo Race, while Team Atom finished second and Team TitanX 1 from SRMS CET third.

The fest provided students a platform to test their technical skills, strategic thinking, teamwork and problem-solving abilities beyond the classroom.
