Bhardwaj Stresses Better Implementation of Central Schemes

Kangra Lok Sabha MP Dr Rajeev Bhardwaj on Tuesday said several government schemes have a Center-state funding ratio of 90:10 and that the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) would help improve electricity supply in rural areas, similar to urban areas.

Bhardwaj made the remarks after chairing a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) in Dharamshala.

He directed officials to ensure no negligence in implementing government schemes and called for better coordination among officials and public representatives.

The meeting also reviewed health facilities, including achievements at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda. Bhardwaj sought information about the status of Himcare cards and was informed that the cards were now functioning. The meeting also discussed robotic surgery at the medical college as a significant achievement.

The meeting also discussed organ donation. Bhardwaj expressed his willingness to donate his eyes and stressed the need to increase public awareness about organ donation. He also shared information about the online process and form-filling facility.

The MP said coordination between the district administration and legislators in Kangra was good, with stakeholders extending cooperation from time to time.

He urged officials and public representatives attending the DISHA meeting to coordinate better to ensure effective implementation of Central government schemes at the grassroots level.
