Mantrin’s Prateek Sachdeva secures 100 percentile in UGC NET June 2026

Chandigarh-based communications professional scores 206 out of 300 in Mass Communication and Journalism, qualifying for JRF and Assistant Professor.

Prateek Sachdeva, a communications professional working with Chandigarh-based advertising firm Mantrin, has secured a 100 percentile in the UGC NET June 2026 examination in Mass Communication and Journalism, qualifying for both Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor. Sachdeva scored 206 marks out of 300 and recorded a percentile score of 100.

While talking to The North News about his achievement, Sachdeva said, “Securing the 100 percentile in UGC NET is a deeply fulfilling moment for me, particularly because I have been balancing my professional responsibilities with my academic preparation. Working in advertising has given me valuable practical exposure to communication, media, and storytelling, while preparing for UGC NET strengthened my understanding of the theoretical and research dimensions of the field.”

He added, “I am grateful to my family, mentors, teachers, colleagues and everyone who supported me throughout this journey. Qualifying for both JRF and Assistant Professor is not just an achievement for me, but also a motivation to continue learning, researching and contributing meaningfully to the field of Mass Communication and Journalism. I hope this achievement encourages other young professionals and students to pursue their academic ambitions alongside their careers.”

The result also highlights the value of combining academic knowledge with professional experience in the communication sector. Advertising, journalism, digital media and strategic communication are undergoing rapid change as digital platforms grow, emerging technologies advance and media consumption patterns evolve.

“Reading newspapers is an important habit for me. Besides reading The Hindustan Times and other newspapers, I regularly receive the latest news updates from The North News on WhatsApp, which helps me stay informed and has been very useful,” he said.

“My experience at Mantrin, along with my academic achievement, places me at the intersection of communication practice, strategy and research.  After qualify this test, I have ample of opportunities including in research, higher education, and specialised communication, ” he said.

Sharing details, he said the National Testing Agency has issued the UGC NET scorecard on August 28, 2026. A total of 7,722 candidates registered for Mass Communication and Journalism, while 6,360 candidates appeared for the examination, he informed. The National Testing Agency conducts the UGC NET examination on behalf of the University Grants Commission. The examination determines eligibility for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship in universities and other higher educational institutions across the country, he further said. “Currently  I am associated with Chandigarh based Mantrin and have been gaining professional experience in advertising and communication,” he said.
