Panchkula, July 9
A four-and-a-half-year-old child died after reportedly being electrocuted by a street light pole carrying live current at the Central Vihar Society in Sector 14, Panchkula, late at night.
According to officials, the incident occurred during the night. The child’s family rushed him to the Sector 6 Hospital in Panchkula, where doctors declared him dead.
The child’s body has been kept in the hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
The deceased child’s father is employed as an assistant in the Public Health Department.
Following the incident, local residents alleged that exposed electrical wires and poor maintenance were responsible for the tragedy. They demanded strict action against those found negligent, stating that those responsible for the lapse should be held accountable.
