Rain brings respite from heat across Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana

Rainfall across several parts of Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday brought much-needed relief from the intense heat that had gripped the region over the past several days. Showers also lashed Chandigarh, bringing down temperatures and providing respite from the prevailing hot and humid weather.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain was recorded in Chandigarh, Mohali, Kharar, Pathankot, Patiala and Hoshiarpur in Punjab. In Haryana, rainfall was reported from Ambala, Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Hisar, Rohtak and Karnal during the morning hours.
Among the recorded rainfall figures, Pathankot received the highest precipitation in Punjab with 61 mm, while Hoshiarpur recorded 5.5 mm. In Haryana, Yamunanagar received 10.5 mm of rainfall, followed by Sonipat with 5 mm and Rohtak with 3 mm, according to official weather data.
The showers brought a noticeable dip in temperatures across the region, ending a prolonged spell of scorching heat and providing welcome relief to residents.
