Rajpura, June 26
Two unidentified masked men allegedly opened fire at the office of a property dealer in Rajpura town of Punjab’s Patiala district on Friday before fleeing the spot, police said. The incident took place at the office of Laxmi Property Dealer near the underbridge on the Rajpura Patiala Road. No injuries were reported.
According to police, the accused arrived on an Activa scooter and fired around eight rounds before escaping. Eyewitnesses said one of the assailants entered the office and asked about the owner, Ramesh Pahuja. After a woman employee informed him that Pahuja was not present, the man allegedly pulled out a revolver and opened fire before leaving with his accomplice.
Rajpura City SHO Gursewak Singh, Patiala SHO Pradeep Bajwa and other police officials reached the scene shortly after the incident and launched an investigation.
Police teams collected evidence from the spot and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the accused. Officials said the motive behind the firing has not yet been established and that all possible angles are being investigated. Police said efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects. Further investigation into the incident is in progress.
