Former Health Minister and senior BJP leader Vipin Singh Parmar launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress government during a press conference in Dharamshala, accusing it of fostering an atmosphere of anarchy and systematically undermining democratic institutions. Parmar, who is the MLA representing the Sulah constituency, alleged that the state government intentionally delayed the local body and Panchayati Raj elections in a bid to defer them entirely. He claimed that despite these deliberate administrative hurdles, the people of Himachal Pradesh delivered a decisive mandate by extensively supporting Bharatiya Janata Party backed candidates across the state.

Highlighting the recent electoral outcomes, Parmar noted that a substantial number of BJP supported candidates secured victories in the local elections, pointing specifically to the party capturing a majority in the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation. While congratulating the newly elected representatives of the Zila Parishad, Block Samiti, and local Panchayats, the former minister stated that the public has explicitly bestowed its blessings on them to prioritize development and public welfare over political maneuvering.

The legislator further complained about the state of governance over the last three and a half years, asserting that the grievances of crucial demographics, including women, youth, government employees, and pensioners, have been completely ignored. He alleged that various organized mafias are running amok across the state, while the current administration has entirely lost its grip on law and order and on bureaucratic control.

Parmar also strongly censured the Chief Minister for making derogatory remarks against grassroots representatives, reminding the government that Zila Parishad and Block Samiti members are directly elected by citizens and deserve the utmost institutional respect. Turning to the ongoing financial friction, the BJP leader accused the state of mismanaging resources, stating that while the Central Government continues to supply ample funds for diverse developmental projects, the benefits are not reaching the public, and vital welfare programs aimed at poor families and daughters have been prematurely shut down.

When questioned about the recent controversies surrounding former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Neeraj Bharti, Parmar dismissed them as an internal factional crisis of the Congress party. Expressing deep concern over the escalating drug menace in the state, he concluded by stating that the government’s constant complaints regarding a financial crisis are a mere cover up for its failure to effectively curb the drug mafia and properly utilize central assistance.
