Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar has broken his silence regarding the political storm sparked by his son, and Congress Vice President, Neeraj Bharti, who recently leveled serious allegations against his own government before tendering his resignation. Advocating discipline and internal dialogue, the senior leader asserted that organizational and government matters should be discussed within party forums rather than broadcast on social media. While maintaining that constructive criticism is vital for improvement, Chander Kumar warned that public rhetoric ultimately tarnishes the collective image of both the party and the administration.

Addressing the media on the controversy, the Agriculture Minister emphasized that while differences of opinion are natural in a democratic setup, converting internal disagreements into public disputes harms organizational interests. He stated that in a democracy, everyone has the right to express their views, but leveling allegations without factual backing damages the reputation of both the government and the party. He added that anyone harboring grievances regarding leadership decisions should formally present their case before the Chief Minister and the state Congress high command, rather than airing them in the press or on digital platforms. Describing the Congress as a vast democratic organization, he reiterated that the party already has dedicated internal platforms for such debates.

Confirming the latest developments regarding the resignation, Chander Kumar disclosed that the Congress high command has accepted Neeraj Bharti’s resignation. However, he noted that the top leadership remains committed to resolving the underlying issues through direct communication. He assured that the party leadership will speak with Neeraj Bharti to address and resolve the matter, adding that the concerns and sentiments of younger leaders will be taken with utmost seriousness, and that a resolution will be achieved through constructive dialogue.

Drawing a line between political opposition and internal dissent, Chander Kumar remarked that while criticism from rival political parties is expected, it is entirely inappropriate for members to question their own government on public platforms. Concluding his statement with an appeal to party workers, the veteran leader urged cadres to exercise restraint and maintain decorum. He emphasized that every worker and leader must uphold collective responsibility to ensure the long-term strength of the party organization and the stability of the state government.
