Bilaspur, May 16
Union Health Minister and senior BJP leader Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday visited the revered Maa Naina Devi temple in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district, where he offered prayers and sought blessings for peace and prosperity in the country and the state.
The visit marked Nadda’s first trip to his home district following the BJP’s recent electoral victories in West Bengal and Assam. During his visit to the Shaktipeeth, he performed traditional rituals and participated in a special puja, conducted amid Vedic mantras, within the temple complex.
Temple priests and members of the temple trust welcomed the Union minister upon his arrival. He was later presented with a sari and prasad by the trust authorities as part of the customary honour.
Local BJP MLA and party chief spokesperson Randhir Sharma was also present during the visit. A large number of BJP workers and devotees gathered at the temple premises, while security was tightened in anticipation of the minister’s arrival.
Speaking during the visit, Nadda said the BJP’s electoral success in West Bengal and Assam was achieved with the blessings of the Goddess.
