Abu Dhabi, May 15
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in the United Arab Emirates, starting a five-nation diplomatic tour that will also take him to the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy. Modi landed in Abu Dhabi on Friday afternoon, where he was received by UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour upon arrival.
During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold high-level talks with the UAE leadership, with both sides expected to review progress in the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Discussions are likely to focus on energy security and regional stability, particularly amid growing uncertainty in West Asia and its potential impact on global oil supplies and key maritime routes.
