Manali, May 12

The administration in Himachal Pradesh’s Manali Assembly constituency has stepped up preparations for the upcoming Municipal Council and Panchayat elections, with training sessions being organized for employees assigned election duties.

Officials said election activity in the region has intensified as political parties and their supported candidates continue campaigning actively ahead of the polls. Amid the growing political atmosphere, the administration has also accelerated its preparations to ensure smooth, transparent elections.

As part of the preparations, election staff were provided training on the use of Electronic Voting Machines during a session held at the Mini Secretariat in Manali on Tuesday. Officials said the training was aimed at ensuring polling personnel faced no difficulties during the election process.

Manali SDM Gunjit Singh Cheema said all arrangements for the Municipal Council elections had been completed. He said employees deployed on election duty were undergoing their second phase of training and were given practical EVM training during the session.

Cheema further said another round of training would be organized after May 17, following which polling staff would be dispatched for Panchayat election duties. He also appealed to people to actively participate in the democratic process and to exercise their right to vote in large numbers.
