Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Wednesday criticized the Aam Aadmi Party over its observers’ meeting in Jalandhar, alleging it was aimed at addressing internal unrest and boosting cadre morale.

Warring said the meeting was an attempt to manage growing dissatisfaction within the party and project unity despite challenges. He alleged that grassroots workers who played a key role in the 2022 elections had been sidelined after the party came to power, leading to discontent within its ranks.

He said recent political developments pointed to increasing internal divisions and indicated that more leaders and workers could distance themselves from the party in the coming period. Warring also claimed that public confidence in AAP had weakened, and organizational exercises would not be sufficient to restore trust.

The Aam Aadmi Party, however, described the meeting as a routine exercise to gather feedback from its observers. The developments highlight intensifying political contestation in Punjab, with both sides seeking to consolidate support ahead of future electoral challenges.
