Kullu, April 21
The Congress party will contest the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections with a focused strategy and treat the polls as a key organizational challenge, according to newly appointed Congress Block President Gopal Singh Thakur.
Thakur, who was welcomed on his arrival in Kullu, said the party will field strong, winnable candidates to ensure its success in the elections. He added that he will work to fulfil the responsibilities entrusted to him by the organization during this important election year.
He said he has long been associated with the party and has experience of working at the grassroots level. Thakur stated that preparations for the upcoming Panchayat elections will be carried out in coordination with senior Congress leaders.
He also said that the party organization and the state government are working in coordination. Referring to the government’s “10 guarantees,” Thakur said efforts are being made to implement them, and claimed that progress would have been faster if the state had not faced natural disasters in 2023 and 2025.
He further said that despite challenges, the government remains committed to fulfilling its promises. Thakur added that all party workers are enthusiastic about the upcoming Panchayat elections and assured that organizational responsibilities will be carried out collectively.
