Lucknow, April 11
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed time-bound action to position the state as India’s deep tech capital under the vision “Innovate in UP, Scale for the World.” The directive was issued during a high-level meeting aimed at strengthening advanced technology sectors and driving innovation-led growth.
The Chief Minister stressed expansion in key areas, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, drones, green hydrogen, cybersecurity, and medical technology. He called for stronger collaboration between industry and research institutions to accelerate innovation and generate employment.
During the meeting, IIT Kanpur Director Manindra Agrawal gave a presentation highlighting progress in medical technology. He briefed officials on the proposed institute, the Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology. Construction of the institute is expected to begin in November.
The Chief Minister also reviewed plans to fast-track green hydrogen projects and discussed setting up a first-of-its-kind institutional centre for clinical validation in Ayurveda. The proposed centre is expected to support scientific research and strengthen global acceptance of traditional medicine.
He further emphasised developing Uttar Pradesh as a hub for indigenous drone manufacturing and advancing quantum research. The proposed UP Deep Tech Hub in Noida is expected to serve as a central platform for startups, research institutions and industry partners. The initiative will focus on research at IIT Kanpur and deployment from Noida.
Adityanath directed officials to ensure the swift implementation of all projects to position Uttar Pradesh as a leader in deep-tech innovation and to strengthen the state’s technology ecosystem.
