Patiala, July 27
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a major protest on the Patiala-Chandigarh Road near Punjabi University against the alleged D-Pharmacy examination paper leak at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
The demonstration was led by Punjab BJP Mahila Morcha President Jai Inder Kaur and was attended by hundreds of party workers. During the protest, BJP workers also burnt effigies of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh.
Addressing the gathering, Jai Inder Kaur accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leadership of adopting a “double standard”. She alleged that while AAP leaders were actively participating in protests in Delhi, they had failed to take action over the paper leak incident in Punjab.
“The double face of the AAP leadership is clearly visible. On one hand, they are actively involved in protests in Delhi, while on the other, they have failed to take any action in the paper leak case in Punjab,” she said.
She demanded the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh, holding them accountable for the alleged examination paper leak.
Jai Inder Kaur also sought an explanation from the Punjab government over the alleged use of force by Punjab Police officers against women protesting for their legitimate demands.
Hundreds of BJP workers participated in the protest, raising slogans against the Punjab government and demanding strict action in the alleged paper leak case.
