New Delhi, March 24
Journalist Sudhir Chaudhary’s Essprit Productions has partnered with Balaji Telefilms and Ellipsis Entertainment for “The Terror Report”, a high-intensity political thriller that will explore terror attacks on Indian soil and the nation’s response to them.
The movie will be helmed by Vishnu Vardhan, who is known for his 2021 patriotic war drama “Shershaah”, featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani.
According to the makers, the film is a fact-based thriller that draws inspiration from the devastating terror attacks in India and the country’s strong and decisive response.
“The Terror Report” will act as a sequel to “The Sabarmati Report” and will broaden the narrative to reveal the ongoing and unresolved story of India’s fight against cross-border terrorism. Combining investigative elements, intelligence operations, and deeply human narratives, the film examines recent, tragic, and pivotal events that have shaped the nation’s modern security environment, the statement said.
The partnership between Balaji Telefilms and Ellipsis Entertainment brings together two major creative forces, along with Chaudhary’s in-depth understanding of national affairs and Vishnu Vardhan’s established skill in turning real-life events into impactful cinema, it added.
The project is being produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar, and Chaudhary.
“The Sabarmati Report”, which starred Vikrant Massey, Rashii Khanna, and Riddhi Dogra, was released in 2024 and focused on the events following the Godhra train burning in 2002.
