Nestlé CEO Mark Schneider Steps Down After 8 Years; Laurent Freixe to Succeed

Nestlé’s CEO Mark Schneider has announced his resignation after leading the Swiss food giant for eight years . Schneider, who played a pivotal role in transforming Nestlé into a more innovative and sustainable business, will be replaced by Laurent Freixe, the current head of the company’s Latin America division, the news outlet Hindustan Times reported. Schneider stated, “Leading Nestlé for the past 8 years has been an honor for me. I am grateful for what we have achieved, having transformed Nestlé into a future-proofed, innovative, and sustainable business.”

The news outlet further said that Laurent Freixe, who joined Nestlé in 1986, has held various leadership roles, including managing the European zone during the 2008 financial crisis and later serving as CEO of the Americas region. In 2022, Freixe took charge of the newly created Latin America zone, where he successfully navigated through challenging conditions. Nestlé’s chairman, Paul Bulcke, praised Freixe as “a talented leader with strategic acumen, extensive
in-market experience, and a deep understanding of markets and consumers,” adding that Freixe is the perfect fit to lead Nestlé in its next phase of growth.
