Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Lucknow on December 25 to mark the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a Bharat Ratna awardee. During the visit, scheduled for the afternoon, Modi will inaugurate the Rashtra Prerna Sthal and address a public gathering. The memorial complex has been conceived as a tribute to Vajpayee’s life and public service, reflecting his influence on India’s democratic institutions and national development.

Developed as a national memorial and inspirational complex, Rashtra Prerna Sthal has been built at an estimated cost of ₹230 crore and spans around 65 acres. The site is intended to promote leadership values, public service and cultural awareness, according to officials.

The complex includes 65-foot-high bronze statues of Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Deendayal Upadhyaya, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, recognising their roles in shaping India’s political thought and public life.

It also features a lotus-shaped museum spread over nearly 98,000 square feet. Using digital and immersive technologies, the museum traces India’s national journey and highlights the contributions of these leaders, offering visitors an interactive and educational experience.

Officials say the inauguration marks a step towards preserving the ideals of leadership and governance associated with Vajpayee, with the complex expected to serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.
