India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Israel later this week, with talks in the United Arab Emirates set to take place on Monday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said.
In an official statement, the MEA said Dr Jaishankar would co-chair the 16th Joint Commission Meeting and the 5th Strategic Dialogue with the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi.
The meetings will follow Dr Jaishankar’s participation in the Sir Bani Yas Forum, a key regional platform for dialogue on political and security issues.
After completing his engagements in the UAE, the external affairs minister will travel to Israel, where he is expected to hold bilateral consultations with his Israeli counterpart, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.
The visit comes amid India’s continued diplomatic outreach in West Asia, with a focus on strengthening strategic and political ties with key partners in the region.
