PM Modi’s Pariksha Pe Charcha to return in 2026 with global outreach

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interactive education initiative, Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), will return for its ninth edition in January 2026, bringing together students, parents and teachers from India and overseas to discuss examination stress and promote the idea of exams as a “celebration” rather than a burden.

The government has announced that participant selection will take place through an online MCQ-based competition on the MyGov portal between December 1, 2025 and January 11 , 2026. Students from Classes 6 to 12, along with teachers and parents, are eligible to join. All those completing the activity will receive a digital participation certificate.

The previous edition of PPC, held on February 10,  2025 introduced a new open-air format at Sunder Nursery in New Delhi. It brought together 36 students from every State and Union Territory, representing a broad range of schools including government institutions, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, CBSE schools and Navodaya Vidyalayas. Alumni of the PRERANA programme and winners of Kala Utsav and Veer Gatha were also present.

The 2025 event featured seven thematic episodes covering mental health, sports and discipline, nutrition, creativity, technology, finance and positivity, with insights from well-known figures across fields.

The PPC has grown significantly since its first edition in 2018, when just 22,000 people took part. By 2025, the programme had set a Guinness World Record with student participation from more than 245 countries, teachers from 153 countries and parents from 149 countries. The eighth edition drew 3.56 crore registrations, while 1.55 crore people joined related Jan Andolan activities nationwide, taking total participation close to 5 crore.
