Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh on October 16 to launch and inaugurate major development projects worth around ₹13,430 crore. The visit will include temple prayers, a cultural stop, and a large public event in Kurnool. The Prime Minister will begin his visit at 11:15 am with Pooja and Darshan at Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and 52 Shakti Peeths. The temple is unique for housing both a Jyotirlinga and a Shakti Peeth in the same premises.
At 12:15 pm, he will visit Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, a memorial complex dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, featuring replicas of four historic forts and a meditation hall. Later, at around 2:30 pm in Kurnool, Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for multiple projects covering industry, power transmission, defence manufacturing, petroleum, natural gas, railways, and roads.
The key projects include:
- Transmission System Strengthening at Kurnool-III Pooling Station — worth ₹2,880 crore, aimed at boosting renewable energy transmission.
- Orvakal and Kopparthy Industrial Areas — with a total investment of over ₹4,920 crore, expected to attract ₹21,000 crore in further investment and generate one lakh jobs.
The projects are part of the government’s broader plan to accelerate industrial growth and improve infrastructure in the Rayalaseema region.
