Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his British counterpart Keir Starmer in London on Thursday, as part of his fourth official visit to the United Kingdom since taking office in 2014. Previously, Modi was welcomed by members of the Indian diaspora on arrival, ahead of a series of high-level engagements, including an audience with King Charles III. The Prime Minister’s Office posted on X, formerly Twitter: “PM @narendramodi arrived in London, where he will meet PM @Keir_Starmer. Upon his arrival, the Indian community warmly welcomed the PM.”

Writing on the platform himself, Modi said the visit would serve to deepen economic ties between the two nations. “The focus will be on advancing prosperity, driving growth, and creating jobs for our people,” he said. “A strong India-UK friendship is vital for global progress.”

Modi’s previous UK visits took place in 2015, 2018 and 2021.
