Chandigarh, June 30
At least 12 people were killed and several others injured following a powerful explosion at the Sigachi Chemical Industry in Pashamilaram industrial area on Monday. The blast was so intense that it hurled some workers nearly 100 metres from the site, officials said. Emergency responders, including fire brigade personnel, rushed to the spot and are currently engaged in firefighting and rescue operations.
