VP Dhankhar advocates for micro-industries in villages to boost rural economies

  A strong proponent of agricultural innovation, Vice-President, Jagdeep Dhankhar, who is himself the son of a farmer, stressed the importance of empowering rural economies. He advocated for the establishment of micro-industries in villages that would add value to agricultural and livestock products, such as milk. Dhankhar argued that such initiatives would enhance food quality, create jobs, and appeal to the entrepreneurial spirit of rural youth.

Addressed a gathering at the National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute in Mohali on Monday, Dhankhar highlighting the nation’s rich historical heritage of knowledge and wisdom. Reflecting on India’s past, Dhankhar noted that the Vedas, Upanishads, and Puranas have long captured the essence of human life. He praised ancient institutions like Nalanda and Takshashila, calling them a source of pride. However, Dhankhar spoke candidly about the disruptive influence of invaders and the British colonial rule, which he argued led to the destruction of India’s cultural institutions and the imposition of foreign systems. Despite this, he expressed optimism about India’s resurgence, saying, “We are springing back.”
