EPFO registers 14.63 lakh net members in November 2024

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) recorded a net addition of 14.63 lakh members in November 2024, reflecting a 9.07% increase compared to October 2024. The year-on-year growth in net member additions stood at 4.88%, underscoring heightened employment opportunities and improved awareness of employee benefits.

EPFO enrolled approximately 8.74 lakh new members in November, marking a 16.58% increase from October 2024 and an 18.80% growth compared to November 2023. This uptick is attributed to expanding job opportunities and successful outreach initiatives. The 18-25 age group accounted for 4.81 lakh new members, representing 54.97% of total additions in November. This group also saw a 9.56% rise from October 2024 and a 13.99% increase year-on-year, indicating a significant influx of first-time job seekers. Approximately 14.39 lakh members rejoined EPFO after switching jobs, a rise of 11.47% from October 2024 and 34.75% compared to November 2023. These members opted to transfer their EPF accounts, ensuring continued social security coverage.

Out of the new members, 2.40 lakh were women, reflecting a 14.94% increase from October 2024 and a 23.62% rise year-on-year. Net female member additions totaled 3.13 lakh, demonstrating a broader shift towards gender inclusivity in the workforce. The top five states and union territories contributed 59.42% of the net member additions, totaling 8.69 lakh. Maharashtra led the pack with 20.86% of the total additions. Other significant contributors included Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Gujarat, Delhi, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh, each accounting for over 5% of the total.
