Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal highlighted India’s growing dominance in the global auto component sector, emphasizing that the industry is moving towards a net surplus in exports. The minister emphasized the importance of electric vehicle (EV) technology in driving industry growth and urged the auto sector to build its own EV ecosystem. He also stressed the need to reduce reliance on foreign non-market economies and improve India’s self-sufficiency in precision tooling. The Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, set to run from January 17-22, 2025, will showcase innovations in automotive components, EVs, and sustainable mobility solutions, reinforcing India’s role as a manufacturing hub.
