New Delhi, January 17
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday pledged to provide ₹2,500 per month to women in Delhi under the Mahila Samridhi Scheme if it wins the upcoming Assembly elections. BJP chief JP Nadda, unveiling the party’s manifesto, also announced a ₹500 subsidy on LPG cylinders and free cylinders during Holi and Diwali.
Nadda assured that existing welfare schemes in Delhi would continue under BJP governance but with more effective execution. He accused the current AAP administration of fostering corruption and promised reforms to eliminate such practices.
“After forming the government in Delhi, we will implement the central government’s Ayushman Bharat for 51 lakh people who were deprived of its benefits under AAP in the first cabinet meeting. Besides, we will provide additional cover of Rs 5 lakh,” Nadda said.
Highlighting the BJP’s track record, Nadda stated, “In 2014, we made 500 promises and delivered 499. In 2019, we made 235 promises, completing 225, with the remainder in progress,” he added. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming election manifestos into actionable resolutions, marking a shift in political culture.
