Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a telephonic conversation with UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey today. The two leaders discussed ongoing defence cooperation and underscored the importance of sustaining momentum in bilateral relations. During the conversation, they reviewed progress in key areas of defence technology, including Electric Propulsion and jet engines. Both expressed satisfaction with the recent signing of a Statement of Intent on Electric Propulsion.
The Ministers also touched on the ongoing programme for exchanging military instructors between the two nations’ training institutes. With the UK’s growing focus on the Indo-Pacific region, both sides agreed to explore opportunities for enhanced maritime cooperation and joint projects in 2025.
