The theme song “Mahakumbh Hai,” produced by Doordarshan for Mahakumbh 2025, was unveiled by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, at an event in Delhi. Sung by Padma awardee Kailash Kher, the song captures the spirit of devotion, celebration, and cultural vibrancy of the iconic Mahakumbh.
The lyrics, written by Aalok Shrivastav, and the music, composed by Kshitij Tarey, blend traditional and modern styles, reflecting the confluence of faith and festivity. The music video is available on Doordarshan and its digital platforms. The Union Minister also launched a special composition by Akashvani dedicated to the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Sung by Ratan Prasanna with music by Santosh Nahar and Ratan Prasanna, and lyrics by Abhinay Shrivastava, the song celebrates the spiritual and cultural significance of the Triveni Sangam.
The composition highlights the purifying ritual of taking a dip at the Sangam and pays tribute to the grandeur of the Mahakumbh, resonating with the devotion of millions of pilgrims.
