Ten family members and close aides of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) founder Masood Azhar were among those killed in a series of precision airstrikes launched by the Indian Armed Forces early Wednesday. According to top security sources, more than 90 terrorists were neutralised in coordinated strikes across terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) , in what officials are calling a decisive phase of Operation Sindoor — a military response to the recent Pahalgam massacre, Business Today reported.

The heaviest bombardments reportedly took place in Bahawalpur and Muridke — long suspected strongholds of terror outfits — where between 25 to 30 militants were killed at each site
A major strike on the Subhan Allah complex in Bahawalpur — confirmed by BBC Urdu — resulted in the deaths of 14 individuals linked to JeM, including ten of Azhar’s relatives. According to India Today, Azhar himself acknowledged the deaths, which included his elder sister and her husband, a niece, a nephew and his wife, and five children. Four other close aides, including Azhar’s mother and a senior operative, were also reportedly killed.
The Indian military described the action as a precision counter-offensive aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure used to launch attacks inside India. Nine major camps belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen were targeted, officials said.
The airstrikes were launched in response to the recent massacre in Pahalgam, in which 26 people — many of them tourists — lost their lives in a terrorist attack that New Delhi blames on Pakistan-backed groups.
