India has launched a calculated and strategic counter-strike on terror camps across the border under Operation Sindoor, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh confirmed on Wednesday, describing the mission as a precise and restrained military response to recent attacks on Indian soil. Speaking in New Delhi, Rajnath Singh said the operation was carried out with “precision, precaution and compassion,” ensuring that only terrorist infrastructure was hit, and no civilian population was harmed.
“This action has been carried out in a highly thoughtful and strategic manner. With the objective of weakening the terrorists’ morale, the action has been strictly limited to targeting their camps and infrastructure,” Rajnath Singh said. .

Lauding the Indian armed forces for their execution, he said, “Our soldiers have once again given a befitting reply by destroying the camps training terrorists. I commend their bravery and professionalism.”  Drawing from mythology to frame the moral justification of the operation, Rajnath Singh referenced Lord Hanuman’s destruction of Ashok Vatika in the Ramayana:
“We followed the principle of ‘jin mohi maara, tin mohi maare’ — we struck only those who harmed our innocents.”

He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unwavering support and leadership.
“Under the leadership of PM Modi, our forces have created a new chapter in India’s security strategy,” Singh added.

The Defense Minister underlined the disciplined conduct of the operation, highlighting the Indian Army’s ability to combine military precision with humanitarian restraint.
“Our army has acted with precision, alertness and sensitivity,” he said.
