Goma highlights the promotion of Ayurveda and responds to BJP’s questions over CM’s new office

Shimla, September 23

Himachal Pradesh Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma on Wednesday inaugurated a state-level programme and a three-day exhibition in Shimla to mark National Ayurveda Day, stating that the state government is taking steps to expand the reach of Ayurveda and create greater public awareness about traditional healthcare in the state.

Addressing the event, Goma said growing awareness has led more people to explore Ayurvedic treatment. He said the government is working to strengthen Ayurveda and encourage its adoption across the state.

Goma also said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu undergoes Ayurvedic treatment and encourages people to adopt the traditional system of medicine.

The three-day exhibition features Ayurveda-related products, practices, initiatives and aims to provide visitors with information about the benefits and applications of Ayurveda.

During the programme, Goma also responded to BJP leaders’ questions regarding the Chief Minister’s new office. He said the office was government property and belonged to the state.

“No Chief Minister will take it home,” Goma said, adding that the office and its expenditure were matters of state property.

Taking a dig at BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma, Goma alleged that Sharma was facing factionalism within his own party. He also criticised Sharma’s comments regarding expenditure on the Chief Minister’s Office, claiming that the amount spent was lower than the expenditure on Sharma’s residence.

The event brought together officials and stakeholders associated with Ayurveda, with discussions focused on promoting the traditional system of medicine and increasing its accessibility in Himachal Pradesh.
