Shimla , September 9

The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has launched the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027 (VBYLD 2027), giving young Indians a chance to propose solutions to key national and regional issues and present selected ideas directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The initiative has begun with the Viksit Bharat Quiz, with youth aged 15 to 29 eligible to register on the MY Bharat portal until September 30.

Addressing a press conference in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, Special Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Naveen Tanwar, and MY Bharat State Director Dhruv Dogra said the program aims to encourage greater participation of young people in nation-building.

As part of the challenge, India has been divided into 10 regions. Participants will be encouraged to develop solutions to issues including future governance, climate security, connectivity, innovation and the blue economy.

The selection process will be conducted in five stages, beginning with the quiz and followed by an essay competition and district- and state-level contests. The process will culminate in a national dialogue in Delhi in January 2027, where Prime Minister Modi will interact with selected participants.

The programme will feature six tracks this year. In addition to the Viksit Bharat Challenge, participants can compete in the Culture, Design, Hackathon, Startup, and Youth Parliament categories.

The initiative aims to give young people a platform to share ideas and join discussions on India’s development priorities.
