Chandigarh, February 4
Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar on Tuesday announced the suspension of two Transport Department employees involved in drug trafficking, following their arrest by Jalandhar Police. Inspector Kirat Singh and Conductor Deepak Sharma, both of Punjab Roadways Jalandhar-2, were detained by the Special Cell of Jalandhar Commissionerate, with a case registered against them. The department has initiated the process of terminating their services. Bhullar emphasized that the third individual arrested, Ajit Singh Raju, is not affiliated with the Transport Department. He further said that any department employee linked to drug trafficking or other illicit activities will face immediate and strict action.
