Surinder Verma honoured with Disha Iconic Award 2026 for outstanding contribution to society

Citizen Awareness Group Chairman recognised for his sustained efforts in social service, public awareness and community welfare.

Surinder Verma, Chairman of the Citizen Awareness Group and Editor-in-Chief of Mirror 365 and Chandigarh Today, was honoured with the prestigious Disha Iconic Award – 2026 for his exemplary contribution to social service and continued efforts towards the welfare and betterment of society.

Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta presented the award in the presence of former Member of Parliament Avinash Rai Khanna during a special ceremony at Hotel Radisson Red, Mohali.

The honour recognises Verma’s long-standing commitment to social causes and his efforts to raise awareness of issues affecting the community. Through the Citizen Awareness Group and his association with the media, he has consistently highlighted matters of public interest, promoted social responsibility and encouraged citizens to contribute towards society’s development.

Expressing his gratitude, Verma said the recognition was not merely a personal achievement but also an encouragement to continue working with greater dedication towards social welfare and public awareness.

The Governor said such recognition encourages others to come forward, take responsibility, and contribute towards building a more aware, responsible, and progressive society.
