Authorities in Shimla district launched a high-alert investigation after posters threatening to blow up the Rohru Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office and the local court were discovered on Bharari Road.

According to police officials, the threat came to light after an unidentified poster surfaced in the Bharari area, warning of a bomb attack targeting the Rohru SDM office and district court. Taking immediate action, Shimla police registered a First Information Report (FIR) at Sadar police station and initiated a probe using CCTV footage and other technical evidence.

As a precautionary measure, both the SDM office and the court premises in Rohru were evacuated. A comprehensive search operation was carried out by security personnel, including a bomb disposal squad, which thoroughly scanned the area. However, no explosive materials have been found so far.

ASP Shimla (City) Mehar Panwar confirmed that the situation is being treated with utmost seriousness. “Police teams are conducting a detailed investigation, and surveillance footage is being closely examined to identify those responsible,” the officer said.

Security has been tightened in and around the affected areas, with additional police personnel deployed and movement on nearby roads regulated to ensure public safety.

Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and avoid spreading or believing in rumors as the investigation continues.
