Heavy police presence outside minister’s residence, minor scuffle reported

Patiala: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) workers pasted condemnation notices issued by Parvinder Singh Jhota’s Insaaf Committee outside the residences of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators and ministers across Punjab on Monday. In Patiala, party workers put up a notice outside the residence of Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh amid heavy police barricading.

The Police Department had put up barricades outside the minister’s residence. A minor scuffle was reported between police personnel and SAD workers as the latter pasted the notice on the boundary wall.

A notice was also pasted outside the residence of Ajit Pal Singh Kohli, AAP MLA from Patiala Urban.

Jaspal Singh Bittu Chatha, constituency in-charge for Patiala Rural, and Amarinder Bajaj, constituency in-charge for Patiala Urban, were identified as SAD leaders associated with the protest.
