Punjab to send second batch of teachers to Finland for training

The Punjab government will send a second batch of 72 primary school teachers to Finland for training in March, as part of an initiative to improve the state’s education standards, announced Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Wednesday. Bains made the statement during his visit to the School of Eminence in Phase 11, SAS Nagar (Mohali), where he was accompanied by experts from the University of Turku in Finland.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has already been signed with the University of Turku to facilitate the three-week training program. The program will begin with one week in Punjab, followed by two weeks in Finland.

Bains welcomed the visiting Finnish experts, including Ari Kioski, Joel, Mirjami Einola, and Sari Isokytö-Sinjoi, and expressed his appreciation for their collaboration. He emphasized the significance of their involvement in elevating Punjab’s school education system and fostering a knowledge exchange between Punjab and Finland.

The program aims to equip teachers with innovative and effective teaching techniques tailored to modern educational standards. Bains highlighted that the initiative would help teachers enhance their practices, ultimately improving student outcomes in the classroom.
