Security, traffic and essential facilities reviewed ahead of October programme
Kullu, September 19
The Kullu district administration on Saturday reviewed preparations for President Droupadi Murmu’s proposed visit to Atal Tunnel Rohtang in October, with officials directed to ensure all arrangements were completed within the stipulated timeline.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Surjit Singh Rathore chaired the review meeting at the Multipurpose Building in Kullu. Officials from the district administration, DGRE Manali, Border Roads Organisation and the Department of Telecommunications attended the meeting.
The ADM reviewed arrangements for security, traffic management, communication, electricity and drinking water supply, parking and other essential facilities. He issued necessary directions to the departments concerned to complete preparations on time.
Rathore asked officials to work in close coordination and discharge their responsibilities diligently and promptly. He stressed the need to ensure all arrangements were in place well in advance of the proposed presidential visit.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek S, Manali SDM Gunjit Singh Cheema, Assistant Commissioner Jayanti Thakur, Chief Medical Officer Dr Ranjit and officials from various departments were present at the meeting.
